Registration day for the bachelor students
In general, the registration deadline is until the beginning of September, just before the semester starts in Nancy. In addition to that, we also hold an informal registration day in July in Nancy every year to simplify the formalities. The exact date and location will be announced on this website. On the day, students will have the opportunity to personally meet our programme coordinators, to ask any more questions you have concerning the programme and look around the first university you will be going to for your first year of the study. For the entire duration of your bachelor study, you will be enrolled to all three universities at the same time. We will support you throughout the process and fill our the necessary forms with you. Of course you will only need to pay the semester fee to the university you are current studying at.
You will also be enrolled in the Franco-German University (DFH), the organisation that supports the study programme and provide its students with scholarships. This scholarship is for students of all nationalities, even if the student is neither French nor German. For those who are not able to attend the registration day and the latecomers, we can send you the necessary information and documents via email.
Enrolment
Prerequisites of this study programme include a completed high school qualification (Abitur, Baccalauréat, Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires...). This can be generic or subject-specific. Apart from your academic record, you are also required to have sufficient knowledge of German and French. An examination committee of representatives of the collaborating universities will decide on the admission to the course.
Accommodation
Due to the nature of the study programme, students are required to move from place to place every year. The following information is intended to provide a brief overview of where and how you can stay in your respective study periods.
- Nancy:
Most of our students prefer to stay in a residence hall at the beginning of the study. There are several student residences in the immediate vicinity of the university. The sooner you arrange this with Prof. Henkel, the higher the chance of you securing a room. Some students also find their own apartment or shared flat. - Luxembourg:
Students are able to reserve a place in a residence hall at the University of Luxembourg. - Saarbrücken:
Saarland University also have student residences, but many of our students organise their own accommodation. Shared flats and private apartments are among the most popular choices.
Further information on the housing options and the cities themselves can be found of the websites of the universities
